Karla Rouhana

AN AWAKENED ADVENTURER WITH A PASSION FOR GUIDING PEOPLE

My Story

Hello, I’m

Karla Rouhana

and I’m DELIGHTED you’re here.

HERE’S A TASTE OF MY LIFE SO FAR

I spent my childhood in Lebanon in a very nurturing environment, and am fortunate enough to have a vast reservoir of beautiful memories to cherish — but just like so many of us, my life has had its own fair share of twists and turns. It wasn’t easy to thrive amidst the disturbing and destructive Lebanese civil war, so I decided to travel abroad and finish my formal studies in Management Information Systems at the State University of New York.

At the age of 20, I had not only graduated with a degree but I also landed a rewarding corporate job in IT sales in MEA, based in the UAE. The country was completely foreign to me when I first arrived, but I’m forever grateful to every person who believed in me, trusted me, and placed faith in my capabilities.

This feeling of acceptance and belief provided me with the energy to move forward and succeed, no matter where life would take me.

I had the responsibility of helping growing brands to gain recognition in the market, which was a project I absolutely loved. Being able to help people turn their dreams into realities is a true privilege.

To help myself get out of my comfort zone I’d take up challenging pursuits like paragliding, mountain biking, skiing, and rafting, to name but a few. These activities pushed me to always keep growing, no matter which difficulties I found myself facing.

A Turning Point

I was satisfied with my job and enjoyed a great personal life, but just when I was getting comfortable, life decided to shake me to my core. I had to bid an eternal farewell to my darling aunt — the woman who always supported me, through thick and thin. Despite fighting a losing battle against cancer, she always wore a bright smile, and I’ve never forgotten the contagious gratitude that was always evident in her kind, encouraging features.

As if this wasn’t enough, I also lost my best friend’s mom whom I had known for 36 long years. A wonderful woman she was — she was an amazing role model for me, and she was the one who taught me that we should always be compassionate, no matter what the cost. After these events, my life was never the same again.

In one short year, I was set adrift without the role models and loving arms I’d grown up with. I hit rock bottom when I lost my job, and was denied access to my savings in Lebanon due to the country declaring bankruptcy. Life hit me pretty hard and I was faced with the possibility of going into a dark place.

I felt emotionally, mentally and spiritually lost. I was unable to accept the fact that the almost-perfect life I’d built with years of hard work, dedication, and commitment vanished into the thin air.

I knew I had to put my life together by finding something rewarding that resonated deep within me.
This is also the time when I met a very close friend who guided me towards NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming).
This instantly felt like my calling, as I had always believed in the value of helping people to make their lives better.
